Pakistani cricketers back home after film shooting in S. Africa

Sunday, September 14, 2008 LAHORE: Pakistan cricket team captain, Shoaib Malik, wicket keeper, Kamran Akmal and fast bowler, Rao Iftikhar Anjum have arrived back home after the film shooting in South Africa. Shoaib Malik, Kamran Akmal, Rao Iftikhar Anjum and Sohail Tanvir had gone to Johannesburg four days ago for participation in an Indian film shooting. The film by the name ‘victory’ is being made on cricket, in which, the Indian and Australian players also playing the roles. Shoaib Malik, Kamran Akmal and Rao Iftikhar arrived here Sunday morning from Johannesburg, while the fast bowler Sohail Tanvir left South Africa for England.

Sunday, September 14, 2008 MONZA, Italy: Defending drivers world champion Kimi Raikkonen of Finland wound up fastest in the Friday afternoon session on the opening day of practice for Sunday's Italian Grand Prix. The 28-year-old Ferrari driver gave the few fans who had sat through hours of torrential rain for a brief respite of sunshine something to cheer with his driving in a delayed second session. Raikkonen, who has stubbornly refused to abandon his hopes of defending his title despite being 19 points behind leader Briton Lewis Hamilton of McLaren Mercedes, topped the times with a best lap of one minute and 23.861 seconds. 88 die in Russian passenger plane crash

Sunday, September 14, 2008 MOSCOW: An Aeroflot Boeing-737 jet crashed near Ural Mountains city Perm killing all 88 passengers including the 6 crews on board. Russian Airline Boeing-737 was on way to its destination taking off from the Moscow airport and crashed near the city Perm in the Mountains of Ural, the plane was flying at a height of 1800 meter, while about to land lost contact with the control. Russian Radio said that none among the passengers and the crew was left alive, while the relief teams have left for the scene of incident. 100 injured as fire erupts in Bangladesh textile mill Sunday, September 14, 2008 DHAKA: A fire broke out in a textile mill in Ghazipur in Bangladesh, injuring at least 100 people.
