Monday, September 14, 2009 MONZA: A beaming Rubens Barrichello made clear Sunday that he will push his Brawn GP team-mate and world championship leader Jenson Button all the way to the wire in this year's title race after winning the Italian Grand Prix. The 37-year-old Brazilian, who produced a beautifully measured drive from fifth on the grid to grab his second win of the season, said he was looking forward to a close tussle with his team-mate in the closing four races. "This win feels great," said Barrichello. "Whatever happens now, I feel like this is a winning year. Don't forget it was not so long ago that we thought we had no jobs, but now we have a fantastic car, a great engine and a fantastic team. "I have to say I am feeling very good. Monza is always a great track for me and now I am going to give my best in a good and honest fight with this guy (Button) and I am really looking forward to it." Thursday, August 13, 2009 BUDAPEST: Seven-time Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher has abandoned his comeback with Ferrari because of a neck injury.The 40-year-old, who retired at the end of 2006, was set to deputise for the injured Felipe Massa at the European Grand Prix in Valencia on August 23. "Unfortunately we did not manage to get a grip on the pain in the neck which occurred after the private F1-day in Mugello," Schumacher told his website.

BUDAPEST: Three Formula One Teams, led by the Williams team, have denied Ferrari it's request to allow retired former World Champion Michael Schumacher time to test drive a 2009 race car in preparation for his return to F1 racing.The Ferrari team had written a letter to the other Formula One teams, asking for an exception to the 2009 rule, which prohibits all in-season testing. Schumacher, who has been retired since 2006, is seeking one day of test driving in the 2009 Ferrari F-60. Michael will be the replacement driver for the injured Felipe Massa in the European Grand Prix in Valencia August 23.Five of the FOTA teams, McLaren Mercedes, Renault, Toyota, BMW Sauber and Brawn GP, had agreed to allow the Ferrari team the exception to the testing ban, considering the special circumstances surrounding the accident and injuries to Felipe Massa, which after all is the reason for Schumacher's return.But the Williams team, along with Red Bull and Toro Rosso, have blocked the Schumache...

Saturday, August 01, 2009 ROME: Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher was back testing a racing car just 48 hours after announcing his shock return to Formula One racing.Schumacher, who retired in 2006, tested the Ferrari F2007 at the famous Mugello track near Florence.The 40-year-old German is due to take part in the European Grand Prix in Valencia on August 23 as a replacement for Brazilian Felipe Massa, who was seriously injured in a freak accident during qualifying for last weekend's Hungarian Grand prix in Budapest.F1 testing rules do not allow a driver to practise in the car that will race at a Grand Prix before the beginning of practice at that GP.It means Schumacher can not yet get behind the wheel of Ferrari's F60 and has instead been testing the car with which team-mate Kimi Raikonnen became world champion two years ago.

However he is being kept under sedation to protect his brain after his accident, doctors said on Monday.Talking with media out of the hospital in Budapest, Hungary, parents, wife and brother thanked all the Massa’s fans and well-wishers and said that Massa’s health is rapidly improving. They said that the support from his fans in this difficult time has a great value for his family.Massa’s wife Rafela thanking God said she is very grateful to the Brazilians who prayed for Massa’s recovery.
