Clinton says nuke offer to Iran won't be changed

Tuesday, November 03, 2009 MARRAKECH: U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Monday that the nuclear offer to Iran, intended to restrain its potential for making a nuclear weapon, should be fully accepted by Iran and will not be changed."This is a pivotal moment for Iran," she said at a news conference after consulting with senior government officials from several Persian Gulf nations, plus Egypt, Morocco and Jordan."We continue to press the Iranians to accept fully the proposal that has been made, which they accepted in principle," Clinton said. "Acceptance fully of this proposal ... would be a good indication that Iran does not wish to be isolated and does wish to cooperate with the international community." 8 killed in Karachi train collision

Tuesday, November 03, 2009 KARACHI: Eight persons have been killed when Allama Iqbal Express collided with Super Parcel Express near Jumma Goth railway station.According to reports, AIE being on its way from interior Sindh, met a head-on collision with a goods’ train near Jumma Goth killing four persons and critically injured 35 others. Local residents, rescue workers and fire and rescue service workers launched rescue operations at the incident site. Later, police, Rangers and Railway teams joined rescue operations. Initial reports said four persons including a child have been killed and 35 wounded in the collision that were rushed to Jinnah and other hospitals. Deputy Director Jinnah Hospital Semi Jamal told Geo News that injured included women and children. Oil extends gains in Asian trade

Tuesday, November 03, 2009 SINGAPORE: Oil rose further in Asian trade Tuesday, underpinned by a better-than-expected expansion in the US manufacturing sector, analysts said. A weak greenback, which makes dollar-priced crude cheaper for holders of stronger currencies, was also an extra factor behind the higher futures, they added. New York's main contract, light sweet crude for December delivery, advanced 26 cents to 78.39 dollars a barrel. Brent North Sea crude for December delivery gained 19 cents to 76.74 dollars. The two contracts closed firmer Monday, buoyed in part by the US manufacturing expansion.The Institute of Supply Management said Monday its factory index, also known as the purchasing managers index, grew for a third consecutive month in October with a reading of 55.7 percent.
