KARACHI: The rupee remained under pressure on Thursday against the dollar, as the greenback was seen gaining strengthen at the inter-bank.Forex dealers said, as compared to the last several days when the rupee was seen gaining strength, the national currency today remained under pressure against the US dollar.The dollar edged up by paisas 5 against the rupee and was bought at Rs78.70 and sold at Rs78.75.Meanwhile, the rupee witnessed stability in open market where the dollar was bought at Rs77.50 and sold at 78.10.

MUMBAI: Fresh explosions have been heard inside Taj hotel. Gunshots have been heard from inside the old building of Taj, according to sources. MUMBAI: Two terrorists carrying guns tonight took 15 people, half of them foreigners, hostage on the roof of the luxury Taj Hotel, one of the hostages who managed to escape said. Two youths in their 20s came to the restaurant of the hotel and took 15 people to the roof of the hotel, Rakesh Patel, a businessman from London who lives in Hong Kong, told a TV channel giving the first eyewitness account of what happened in the five-star hotel in South Mumbai.
