Situation in Mumbai remains grave: Maharashtra CM: MUMBAI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh has said that situation was "grave" in the terror-hit Mumbai and asked the Centre to provide more security forces to deal with the situation.Deshmukh said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi called him and expressed concern over the attacks.Deshmukh assured people that his government will take stringent action against the culprits involved in the attacks. Mumbai police: 4 suspects killed, 9 arrested

MUMBAI: Officials said police have killed four suspects in the Mumbai terror attacks and arrested nine more.State home secretary Bipin Shrimali said four men were killed in two incidents when they tried to flee in cars. State Home Minister R.R. Patil said 9 others were arrested, but declines to provide details.Officials said at least 82 people were killed and another 900 wounded. In addition, the attackers were holding hostages Thursday morning.

Suhail Tanveer, Kamran Akmal "safe and sound" in Mumbai

MUMBAI: Pakistani cricketers Suhail Tanveer and Kamran Akmal were also present in Mumbai when terror struck the financial capital of India, however, both cricketers are safe and sound, Geo T.V reported.Many Pakistani and International cricketers are expected to arrive in Mumbai in next few days as T20 Champions League is scheduled to commence from today (Thursday).Both players are in India to represent Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

'Sex on the beach' Britons spared jail in Dubai

DUBAI: An appeals court in Dubai on Tuesday suspended three-month jail terms against two Britons convicted of having sex on the beach in the booming Gulf emirate but ordered them to leave the country. Michelle Palmer, 37, and Vince Acors, 34, who have been on bail during their trial, were not in court when the verdict was issued. Their lawyer Hassan Matar said the three-month prison sentence had been suspended by the court but that the pair would now be deported. The two were found guilty in October of having sex in a public place and drinking alcohol in a highly publicised case in the emirate, which despite its pro-Western outlook still adheres to certain strict Islamic rules and bans sex out of wedlock.
