SYDNEY: Five Muslim men were handed minimum jail terms of between 17 and 21 years on Monday for plotting violent jihadist attacks to protest against Australia's involvement in wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
New South Wales Supreme Court judge Anthony Whealy handed down the sentences at a purpose-built courthouse in the city's west. The men cannot be named for legal reasons.
