Sunday, November 15, 2009 LONDON: A new pop single featuring the voice of acclaimed physicist Stephen Hawking as a tribute to astronomer Carl Sagan is up for grabs.The author of A Brief History of Time blends his voice with dialogues from Sagans 1980s TV show Cosmos: A Personal Voyage in the seven-inch single.The release of A Glorious Down is intended to come out at the time when Sagan would have been 75, reports a UK-based newspaper.Composer John Boswell set the lyrics to various instruments for the track that will have one-hundred-and-fifty limited edition versions. It was produced by White Stripes frontman Jack White's Third Man Records label.
Friday, August 14, 2009 MUMBAI: A 26-year-old woman died Thursday of H1N1 swine flu in the southern city of Bangalore, raising India's death toll from the virus to 20, authorities said.The death was the first reported in India's information technology capital, the Press Trust of India reported.Meanwhile in Pune, the worst-affected in India, two more victims of the virus died Thursday, raising the death toll in that western city near Mumbai to 12, the report said.
