Sunday, October 04, 2009 LONDON: India has expressed its worries over the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) appointment of a special envoy for the resolution of Kashmir issue.British Radio reported Indian foreign minister saying that OIC in its decision has not made efforts to understand the Indian stand and added that Kashmir was the indispensable part of India and OIC has no right to interfere in the internal affairs of India.Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Mir Waiz Umar Faruque said that the OIC appointing special envoy for Kashmir would pave the way for the resolution of Kashmir issue in accordance with the wishes of the people of Kashmir.OIC Secretary General Akmaluddin said that OIC earlier also had appointed its representative for Kashmir and OIC envoy could play the role of a bridge between Pakistan and India.
BEIRUT: Thousands of people converged Saturday on central Beirut to mark the fourth anniversary of the assassination of Lebanese former premier Rafiq Hariri.Waving Lebanese flags and carrying pictures of the slain leader, men, women and children gathered under sunny skies in Martyr's Square where members of the parliamentary majority were to address the crowd. The rally comes as final preparations are underway in The Hague for the launch of the international tribunal set up to bring Hariri's killers to justice. It also comes as the country prepares for legislative elections in June that will pit Western-backed political parties against a Hezbollah-led alliance backed by Syria and Iran.Hariri died in a massive car bombing on February 14, 2005 that also killed 22 others.
