LOS ANGELES: An autopsy is underway Friday morning on the body of Michael Jackson to ascertain the cause of his death. The King of Pop collapsed at his rented Holmby Hills estate Thursday and was pronounced dead a short time later at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center of suspected cardiac arrest. The Los Angeles County coroner's office will determine the cause of death, but results of the post-mortem may not be confirmed for weeks because of toxicological testing delays.Police are searching for a doctor who they hope will help in the investigation of Jackson's death.Los Angeles police spokeswoman Karen Rayner said that police towed from Jackson's house a BMW owned by one of the superstar's doctors.Rayner said, "We have not been able to interview the doctor yet. His car was impounded because it may contain medications or other evidence that may assist the coroner in determining the cause of death."It was reported that the doctor lived at the home. Rayner said she could not confirm that and did not know the doctor's identity. She stressed that the doctor was not under criminal investigation but coroner's investigators wanted to contact him.Former Jackson lawyer Brian Oxman said he has long been concerned about the pop star's use of painkillers and he warned the singer's family about possible abuse. Oxman told NBC's "Today" show that when Anna Nicole Smith died -- quoting now -- "I said we cannot have this kind of thing with Michael Jackson."Oxman is making the rounds at various news outlets, saying he's speaking on behalf of no one but himself.Jackson friend Liza Minnelli has also raised the specter of possible drug abuse, telling CBS, "When the autopsy comes, all hell's going to break loose, so thank God we're celebrating him now."
