Australian cricket side cancels tour to India:
SYDNEY: Cricket's multi-million dollar Twenty-20 Champions League has been thrown into jeopardy by the terrorist attacks in Mumbai.Victoria and Western Australia had qualified for the tournament and the teams were due to fly out in the next few days.The Victorian side was booked to stay at the Taj hotel, where Westerners are reportedly being held hostage and a large fire has broken out.Cricket Victoria's Eivion Bowen said the team's participation is now in doubt."Yes, we were due to book into the Taj with some officials due to fly over tomorrow and the bulk of the team due to go over there on Saturday," he said."We're awaiting advice from the government and also Cricket Australia and their security personnel and we're just sifting through the facts at the moment and trying to work out how that affects our guys and obviously trying to ensure the safety of anybody who does in fact go over."
India set 271-run target by England in 5th ODI:
CUTTACK: Kevin Pietersen hit an impressive 111 not out to help England post 270-4 in the fifth one-day international against India here on Wednesday.India, leading 4-0 in the seven-match series, have to chase a rather difficult target of 271 runs in the allotted 50 overs.India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni put England into bat after winning the toss but the English batsmen made a fine effort to pile up 270 runs for the loss of only four wickets.Their captain Kevin Pietersen leading from the front played a magnificent innings of unbeaten 111 runs with 10 fours and a six. He was ably supported by Ovais Shah, who hit 66 from 57 balls and remained not out.Both batsmen added 112 runs for the unfinished stand of 112 runs for the fifth wicket.The batsmen dismissed were R Bopara (24), Alistair Cook (11), Paul Collingwood (40) and Andrew Flintoff (0).Collingwood along with Pietersen made 89 runs for the third wicket.For

NZ-bound West Indies grounded by visa problems:
LONDON: Players and officials of the West Indies team, who have headed out to New Zealand, are reportedly stuck at London, because they are yet to receive visas to enter New Zealand.West Indies travel to New Zealand to compete in a three-Test and five-ODI series.A handful of players, Sulieman Benn, Fidel Edwards, and Denesh Ramdin, as well as media liaison officer, Philip Spooner, have been stuck in London after they were yet to receive the necessary travel documents to fly out to New Zealand.The rest of the squad will travel to New Zealand directly from Abu Dhabi.
Flintof hopeful of IPL stint:
MUMBAI: England all-rounder Andrew Flintof has said that Indian Premier League (IPL) has got great significance in the careers of cricketers. Flintof hoped that he would appear in next season of the league. The all-rounder also believes that Indian team is benefiting from the experience it gained from the IPL and termed it a secret behind their recent successes against Australia and England. I would surely like to play the next IPL season, he said.
